Update

Well we have made it through 2 weeks of school. They have a "light" system for their behavior, Blue being the best, then green, yellow, and red. Last week she was on Blue for 3 days and green for 2. One of the green days she was talking and the other she threw some paper. Of course she said that someone threw it at her first. But I am pretty happy with that. I knew going into this that she would be a talker. Her teacher is really nice and I have talked to her about it. She did say that it is improving. So so far I can't complain too much. We work on writing her name just about everyday and I can see some good improvement. They do take a nap everyday but I'm not sure that Gracie Ann does because I can tell she is so tired at night. She said the other day "I just rested my bones, I didn't go to sleep!" She still comes home excited and says she loves school. So all is good so far.

So Far So Good

Well we have made it though 3 successful days of Big School so far. She has gotten on the bus for 2 days and gotten off at the right place!!! YEAH! She has been on the blue light (which is the best) for her behavior, so that is good. If she stays on it all week she gets a prize at school and at home so she has a little motivation. She saids that she has "Super Fun!" so things are good.

2nd Day of School

Well her 1st day of school was "Super Fun!" as she said. She said " I made apples, colored, ate lunch, ate a snack, took a nap, and came home!" Now that sounds like a great day to me! She was excited to go back today! Chad took her this morning. We had drilled in her that she has to ride bus #33 today so Chad wrote it on her hand to help her remember. When he pulled into school she was like "There's #33 let me out!" he explained to her that she is to ride the bus this afternoon. But she got out in such a hurry she forgot her backpack and he had to catch her. But she got it and was off running again. So we will see looks like school is going well so far.

1st day of school

Well the 1st day of Kindergarten finally arrived. I woke her up this morning and she was excited and ready to go. She is not a morning person so getting her out of bed is always a challenge, but not this morning! We had picked out her new clothes to wear and packed her lunch and snack the night before so all that was ready. We washed her hair and I braided it. I wore my hair just like that on my first day of school so I wanted her to wear hers like that too. So after the photo session (which she kept saying "Hurry up we are going to be late!") we got in the car. Since we are just right across the street I let her ride up front. She held my hand and said "Mommy please don't cry." (HOW SWEET!) So we got there and i asked her if she wanted me to walk her in. "No momma just pull up there and I will get out." So I pulled up to where the teachers were, they opened the door and before I could blink she was out the door "Bye Momma (as she ran to the door), I know where I am going Mrs. Sheffield's room!" So I didn't even get a kiss! She was off and on her way. Needless to say I tried to be a big girl and not cry like she asked and I didn't. I didn't really have time to think about it. I am very proud of her and that she was so excited and didn't cry. The only experience I've had with Kindergarten was with Casey and that was not pretty so I had prepared myself for the worst, but BOY was I surprised! I have to pick her up in about 30 min. I have thought about her all day and can't wait to hear about how everything went. I'll post more tonight......

Bye Bye tooth

Well we went to the dentist this morning. He was going to pull two tell but only pulled one cause it was just to tramatic. She did really good! They gave her some gas and she was fine until he stuck that needle in the give her the sleepy lip. She screamed and cried! Then after about 5 min he came back and just pulled it right out. I was not prepared for that it was weird, he just pulled it out like he was pulling a weed! After some crying and a trip to wal-mart sponsored by Daddy Mac she is fine. The laughing gas must have kicked in cause she is all wired and can't stop laughing! It is so funny! and of course looking at her I just have to smile. They gave her her tooth in a little treasure chest box.

Only 4 days left

Well this is a BIG week for us! Friday was her last day at the Daycare. She drew Mrs. Charlene and Mrs. Judy a picture. I had it framed and wrote them a nice thank you card. Gracie and her Daddy made cupcakes to take to school. It was more emotional for Mrs. Charlene and myself, we both cried when we left. They have been so good to Gracie Ann (they have had her since she was 18 months). Gracie hugged everyone before we left.
She is really excited about school starting, this morning I told her that it was only 4 days and she smiled and started clapping. I told her that I might cry when I take her to school because I am sad that she is getting big she said, "O Mommy, don't be such a baby! I'll give you a hug and make you feel better. I will be a big girl." Well what could I say to that?
I am more worried about the dentist visit on Wednesday than anything right now. The thought of her not having those two teeth, aw it makes me want to cry! I am going to stay home with her Wednesday, I know it will be traumatic, she doesn't like to see her own blood. I'm trying to prepare her, but.... I told her that Tuesday afternoon we would go buy Popsicles and ice cream. Of course that made her happy.
Well this is an emotional week for me, so keep me in your prayers.
