Busted Lip

Well we now have a busted lip.... She fell face first out of a swing. She has scratches on her nose, chin, forehead, and busted her lip. It was pretty swollen Saturday afternoon when she did it, but it looks MUCH better now.
Things are going ok at school. She was on blue (the best) four out of five days last week, that was the best week so far. and she got on blue today as well so we are off to a good week. She goes back to gymnastics today.
She also came home with a note Friday about a cheer camp they are having at school. She begged me to go, so I signed her up. They get to preform @ half-time of the DJHS vs Mooreville game on Sept. 30th. so that will be fun. She is really excited about it so who knows I might have a little cheerleader on my hands.

A gymnast in the making

Gracie Ann started gymnastics yesterday. She is taking @ ICats, it is all gymnastics and a cheer academy. Gymnastics has changed a lot since I did it! It was an hour FULL of doing repetitions of different moves. She did pretty good for her first day. She LOVED it, she said many times. "This is SO much fun!" She was extremely tired when she got home last night and this morning said that her arms hurt. I told her it was from the 65 hand stands she did yesterday, which is really how many she did (not at one time). So she should be tired and sore. She will go every Monday from 5-6.

Another tooth gone....

Well Gracie Ann lost another tooth. It is the one on the bottom as you can see from the picture above. It has been pretty loose and we tried to pull it over the weekend and decided to just leave it. But she came home from school on Tuesday and had pulled it herself. She said after she ate lunch that she just pulled it out. and that everyone had to come look at it. We put it under her pillow and the tooth fairy brought her $3.00. I was instructed to ask the tooth fairy if she could keep it and take it to her Daddy's like last time so I did such. She asked me what she looked like, "What color was she wearing this time Mommy?" I said pink with blue wings. She asked me this morning if she could put it under her pillow again tonight so she could get some more money. I told her that the tooth fairy would know it was the same tooth, that you could fool her!

School is going OK. After the red light incident last week she is doing much better. She is writing her name better and I can tell the practice we do at home is working. Last week they learned the letter l and o. This week it is the letter g and numbers 6,7,8. She had her first test yesterday.... drum roll please.....100!!!!! I was so proud of her! So things are going well for now.

Update

Well we have made it through 2 weeks of school. They have a "light" system for their behavior, Blue being the best, then green, yellow, and red. Last week she was on Blue for 3 days and green for 2. One of the green days she was talking and the other she threw some paper. Of course she said that someone threw it at her first. But I am pretty happy with that. I knew going into this that she would be a talker. Her teacher is really nice and I have talked to her about it. She did say that it is improving. So so far I can't complain too much. We work on writing her name just about everyday and I can see some good improvement. They do take a nap everyday but I'm not sure that Gracie Ann does because I can tell she is so tired at night. She said the other day "I just rested my bones, I didn't go to sleep!" She still comes home excited and says she loves school. So all is good so far.

So Far So Good

Well we have made it though 3 successful days of Big School so far. She has gotten on the bus for 2 days and gotten off at the right place!!! YEAH! She has been on the blue light (which is the best) for her behavior, so that is good. If she stays on it all week she gets a prize at school and at home so she has a little motivation. She saids that she has "Super Fun!" so things are good.

2nd Day of School

Well her 1st day of school was "Super Fun!" as she said. She said " I made apples, colored, ate lunch, ate a snack, took a nap, and came home!" Now that sounds like a great day to me! She was excited to go back today! Chad took her this morning. We had drilled in her that she has to ride bus #33 today so Chad wrote it on her hand to help her remember. When he pulled into school she was like "There's #33 let me out!" he explained to her that she is to ride the bus this afternoon. But she got out in such a hurry she forgot her backpack and he had to catch her. But she got it and was off running again. So we will see looks like school is going well so far.

1st day of school

Well the 1st day of Kindergarten finally arrived. I woke her up this morning and she was excited and ready to go. She is not a morning person so getting her out of bed is always a challenge, but not this morning! We had picked out her new clothes to wear and packed her lunch and snack the night before so all that was ready. We washed her hair and I braided it. I wore my hair just like that on my first day of school so I wanted her to wear hers like that too. So after the photo session (which she kept saying "Hurry up we are going to be late!") we got in the car. Since we are just right across the street I let her ride up front. She held my hand and said "Mommy please don't cry." (HOW SWEET!) So we got there and i asked her if she wanted me to walk her in. "No momma just pull up there and I will get out." So I pulled up to where the teachers were, they opened the door and before I could blink she was out the door "Bye Momma (as she ran to the door), I know where I am going Mrs. Sheffield's room!" So I didn't even get a kiss! She was off and on her way. Needless to say I tried to be a big girl and not cry like she asked and I didn't. I didn't really have time to think about it. I am very proud of her and that she was so excited and didn't cry. The only experience I've had with Kindergarten was with Casey and that was not pretty so I had prepared myself for the worst, but BOY was I surprised! I have to pick her up in about 30 min. I have thought about her all day and can't wait to hear about how everything went. I'll post more tonight......
